This is Day 3 of our 4-part 420 series. Missed Day 2? Read it here.
So far, we’ve talked about what 420 is and how it became misunderstood. But none of that really matters unless it connects back to you. Because 420 was never just about a number, and it was never just about cannabis. It was about something most people are struggling with today.

Most people don’t realise they’re living in a constant state of stress. Not obvious stress, not panic. But low-level, always-on tension.
And the worst part? It’s become normal.

Modern life doesn’t allow much space to pause.
Phones.
Notifications.
Work.
Noise.
Pressure.
Everything is designed to keep you switched on, and over time, your body adapts to that state. It becomes your baseline, so even when you try to relax…you just can’t.
This is where things start to make sense. 420 became associated with a very specific moment: stopping, stepping away and shifting state. Not rushing, not performing an not reacting.
Just… pausing, and whether people realised it or not, that pause became the point.
That’s the simplified version people were given, but underneath that… It was about:
Something most people simply don’t know how to do anymore.
Because the problem today isn’t a lack of stimulation, it’s the opposite. People are overstimulated, overwhelmed and overloaded. Constantly consuming, constantly reacting. And yet, still feeling disconnected.
This is where the conversation comes full circle. CBD comes from the hemp plant. This plant is part of the cannabis family. The same plant family that became associated with 420. But often, people do not understand it as part of a system interacting with the body. They view it through the same old, simplified lens. The reality is, the body already has its own systems designed to maintain balance. Plant compounds can interact with these systems. They can support that balance, not force it, not override it.
Simply support it.
More people are starting to realise something isn’t working. That being constantly “on” isn’t normal. That feeling exhausted all the time isn’t normal. That struggling to switch off isn’t normal. And instead of pushing harder…
They’re starting to look for ways to come back into balance, not through extremes. But through small, consistent shifts.
This is what 420 really points to, not just cannabis. But awareness, a reminder that: you can pause, you can step out, you can shift your state. And that your body isn’t designed to live in constant stress.
Most people don’t need more stimulation, they need regulation, they need space. They need calm and they need balance. And whether people realise it or not, that’s what 420 was quietly pointing to all along.
