FAQ's

What is CBD?

CBD is one of at least 113 known cannabinoids derived from the hemp plant. These plant-based cannabinoids are similar in structure to the body’s own cannabinoid system, called the endocannabinoid system.

The endocannabinoid system in the body is responsible for regulating sleep, appetite, anxiety, and pain. CBD binds to part of the body’s endocannabinoid receptors to boost the body’s production of its own cannabinoids.

Are My Way CBD products vegan friendly?

All of our CBD oils are suitable for vegans and vegetarians and contain no animal products. Our CBD oils are made from only responsibly sourced hemp, a plant-based carrier oil (MCT oil), natural flavourings in the form of organic essential oils, and sometimes added vitamins and plant-based supplements.

Are My Way CBD products tested on animals?

We’re proud to say that none of our CBD products are tested on animals and are completely cruelty-free. This includes all of our CBD oils and our skin care which are still completely safe and suitable for use on even the most sensitive skin and without any animal testing

What dosage do I need and how long does it take to feel the benefit?

The effects of CBD oil will vary from person to person. With an oral dropper, the effects are usually noticed within 30 minutes to an hour and can last up to six hours, depending on the dose administered.

It’s important to start with a lower dose and build up to a comfortable level that is right for you, we recommend starting with half a pipette under the tongue, once or twice or day which can be increased to three times a day, or as and when needed.

Can you get ‘high’ from CBD?

The specific cannabinoid substance found in marijuana that makes you high is called THC – the psychoactive part of the drug. Industrial hemp production is grown to have significantly lower THC levels and higher CBD yields.

In Europe, THC is highly-regulated to ensure there is no more than 0.3% of THC per bottle of product, and therefore it will not induce psychoactive effects.

Is CBD oil safe or addictive?

A World Health Organisation report on CBD confirmed that “CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile. Reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.”

Controlled human studies have not found any potential for physical dependence, withdrawal, or tolerance. Due to the extremely low levels of THC, there’s no reason why CBD oil should be addictive when used responsibly.

I have been using CBD for a week now, why is it not working?

Based on our own research and listening to customers, the most satisfied users took a dose for 21 days straight. Consistency is key to CBD, so give it a go for 21 days; if you are still unsure then contact our CBD mentors at [email protected] who will be happy to advise you further.

Can I use CBD with medication?

Always speak to your doctor before taking CBD alongside any medication. Even though CBD can’t be discussed in relation to medicinal properties due to its current legal status, it still interacts with the human body in ways that need to be considered.

The most significant manner in which CBD needs to be considered in relation to medication is its inhibition of the enzyme P450. Essentially, this means that certain medications aren't able to be metabolised as fast as before, so you’ll need to be a little more careful with your dosages.

If that sounds concerning, bear in mind that it’s the exact same effect that grapefruit has on your enzymes. That’s why certain medications will advise you to not eat grapefruit whilst taking it. In fact, you can use that as a good baseline to know whether it’s advisable to take CBD with it. By inhibiting the production of P450, the most widespread effect is that certain drugs and medication will linger in the bloodstream longer. Since this is difficult to predict with any precision, it’s best to check with your doctor about any potential interactions.

Can I take CBD abroad?

Our key piece of advice would be to check what customs have to say about your travel destination since the law surrounding CBD differs so much between countries.

On the Visa HQ website you can find a comprehensive breakdown of custom laws by region. Keep in mind that if you have any stopovers, you’ll need to check the laws in that country as well.

What is the difference between Broad- and Full-Spectrum CBD?

If an extract is full-spectrum, this means it contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come with a negligible THC content — below 0.3%, all My Way CBD Full-Spectrum products contain 0.2% THC inline with regulation.

Although non-psychoactive, Full-Spectrum CBD can give you a false positive during a drug test, especially if you consume high doses of CBD oil daily. That’s when the Broad-Spectrum CBD comes in.

Like full-spectrum CBD, Broad-Spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant. However, it goes through an additional process to remove the trace amounts of THC, completely removing it after the initial extraction.

How is CBD different from marijuana?

While CBD is a naturally-occurring component of marijuana, it does not cause a "high" like some may think. The CBD we offer is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. Industrial hemp is defined by Europe and US law as cannabis having 0.3% or less delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content by dry weight.

What is the “Entourage Effect”?

The entourage effect is used to describe what happens when multiple compounds from the industrial hemp plant work together. These components work together to enhance the potential benefits of the plant, with each compound amplifying the therapeutic properties of the others while mitigating their potential side effects.
