Let’s Talk Parasites

The Good, the Bad, and the Creepy!

Today we’re diving into a topic that’s equal parts fascinating and stomach-churning: parasites. Yep, those tiny freeloaders that make themselves at home in your body. Before you start squirming, hear me out – this isn’t all doom and gloom. Parasites are more common than you think, and (surprise!) they’re not always the bad guys they’re made out to be. Let’s break it down.

What Are Parasites, Exactly?

Parasites are organisms that live in or on a host (that’s you) and get their nutrients at your expense. These freeloaders can be microscopic, like protozoa, or larger, like tapeworms. The word “parasite” tends to bring up horror-movie-level imagery, but in reality, they’re part of nature’s design.

Why Do We Get Them?

You’re probably thinking, “I’m clean, I eat well – how would I get parasites?” The truth is, they’re everywhere. Parasites enter our bodies through contaminated food, water, insect bites, or even walking barefoot in the wrong places. Here are the main culprits:

  1. Undercooked Food: Sushi, rare steak, or improperly washed fruits and veggies can carry parasitic eggs. Also, pork, even when cooked, has a high parasite content.
  2. Contaminated Water: A quick sip from the wrong source (even in developed countries) can introduce parasites.
  3. Pets: Love your furry friends? Great! But they’re often carriers of parasites.
  4. Travel: Exploring new countries is fantastic, but it also exposes you to unfamiliar parasites.

Here’s the Twist: We Actually Need Some Parasites

Wait, what? Yes, you read that right. Not all parasites are harmful. In fact, some researchers believe they play a role in regulating our immune system. A few harmless parasites might even help your body develop resilience against autoimmune diseases and allergies.

That said, let’s not romanticise them. When harmful parasites overstay their welcome, they wreak havoc on your health. Think chronic fatigue, digestive issues, unexplained weight loss, or even skin problems.

Natural Ways to Prevent Parasites

The best way to deal with parasites? Don’t let them crash your party in the first place. Here are some prevention tips that are simple, effective, and natural:

  1. Wash Your Produce: Always clean fruits and veggies thoroughly. Soaking them in a water-and-bicarbonate-of-soda solution helps remove potential eggs and pesticides.
  2. Cook Your Food Properly: As much as I love sushi, you need to be extra cautious with raw or undercooked food.
  3. Filter Your Water: If you’re unsure about your water source, invest in a good-quality water distiller or filter. And NEVER drink tap water!
  4. Boost Your Gut Health: A strong gut is your first line of defence. Probiotics, fermented foods, and fibre-rich diets keep your digestive system robust.
  5. Practice Hygiene: Wash your hands, especially after handling animals or using public restrooms.

Got Parasites? Here’s How to Evict Them Naturally

If you suspect you’ve got unwelcome guests, don’t panic. There are plenty of natural remedies to kick parasites to the curb:

  1. Garlic: Parasites hate garlic. Eating raw garlic or taking garlic supplements can help eliminate them.
  2. Papaya Seeds: These little powerhouses are natural parasite killers. Blend them into a smoothie or take them directly.
  3. Wormwood and Black Walnut: This dynamic duo has been used for centuries to fight parasites. They’re especially effective against intestinal worms. These can be bought as oils or capsules.
  4. Clove Oil: Clove oil destroys parasitic eggs, preventing the infestation from restarting.
  5. CBD: Yep, our favourite plant-based powerhouse can help here too. CBD supports your immune system, reduces inflammation, and promotes gut health—making it harder for parasites to thrive.
  6. Detox Baths: Regular salt baths help your body release toxins, making it less hospitable for parasites.
  7. Hydration and Fibre: Drink plenty of water and eat fibre-rich foods to keep things moving. Parasites thrive in a sluggish digestive system.

The Connection Between Parasites and Cancer

Parasites aren’t just a nuisance; they can lead to chronic inflammation and stress on the immune system—two major factors in disease development, including cancer. That’s why detoxing from parasites is a key part of my cancer-healing protocol. If you haven’t read my book, “My Way,” grab it from the shop here for more insights.

Prevention Is Easier Than Cure

Parasites are sneaky, but a proactive approach keeps them at bay. Make small changes to your diet and routine, and consider adding some of the natural remedies above to your lifestyle. Our bodies are amazing at self-healing when we give them the right tools.

Final Thoughts

Parasites aren’t exactly dinner-table conversation, but they’re something we all deal with. The good news? You don’t have to be at their mercy. Take care of your gut, detox regularly, and keep your immune system strong.

Let’s make 2025 the year we kick those freeloaders to the curb—naturally, of course. 😉

Here’s to a parasite-free, vibrant you! 🌱
